Angelique Power
President & CEO, The Skillman Foundation
Angelique Power is the President & CEO of The Skillman Foundation, a private, independent foundation that works with grassroots and grasstops advocates to transform the education system. Rooted in values of equity, fairness, belonging, justice, and bridge-building in a purple state, the Foundation works for and with Detroit youth and grants approximately $28 million annually. The Skillman Foundation actively leverages its financial, moral, social, and reputational capital to ensure young people are designers of their own destiny, and ours.
Power is a board member of Bas Blue, Council of Michigan Foundations, CultureSource, Detroit Future City, Detroit Public Theatre, The Parade Company and United States Artists. She serves on the Governing Committee of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, Co-Chaired the Education and Youth Affairs Transition Committee for Mayor Sheffield, Detroit’s first Black woman mayor, and serves on her Mayor’s Workforce Development Committee. Named a 2025 Michiganian of the Year by The Detroit News, Angelique is the proud wife of her photographer husband, Sean, and the grateful mother of a wise 16-year-old named Sadie.
